Some of our Parts

June 27th, 2011 by Bekah Brunstetter

This weekend I caught Theater Breaking Through Barrier’s evening of ten minutes, Some of our Parts. Um, they are awesome. They the plays, and they the company (it’s a company comprised of a mix of disabled and able-bodied writers, directors, actors.) When they commissioned the writers, they asked us to be irreverent, not polite.  I picked two incredible actors – one with a false hand, one with a false leg, and stuck them in a gym locker room, post-work out, and had them take off their limbs to test the insanely hot girl who’s constantly parading around the locker room naked weighing and weighing herself to see if she is, or is not, a robot placed there to motivate them. (Spoiler: SHE’S A ROBOT YOU GUYS.)
