Nearing my 32nd year on earth, I finally understand that even if a clothing thing looks cute, if it requires you to ask a friend to come with you everytime you have to pee to help you get in and out of the thing, DO NOT GET THE THING.
Rhonda Byrne lives in this magnificent house that she secreted and then purchased it with $ she made from the Secret which I am now writing the Movie for, which I think I secreted. THE SECRET.
One my favorite things about being on set (see also, snacks and collaboration and last minute line changes and snacks and shouting in the almost dark and that feeling of things coming to Be) is finding a weird, quiet spot to sit and think while the lights are set up: in a real but not high school classroom, a real but not cafe, a real but not kitchen, and just sort of sit There, but Not.
1. Get enough food to eat, and eat it.
2. Find a place to sleep where it is quiet,
and sleep there.
3. Reduce intellectual and emotional noise
until you arrive at the silence of yourself,
and listen to it.

12 years ago, blaine was in my first ever play in which I think she talked to vacuum, and something with pretzels. Now she is officially a bikram teacher and is a total natural and I could not be more sweaty or whatistheoppositeofflexible or proud. It’s so awesome to see her doing what she loves and also see traces of the first Blaine I ever knew in her teaching. PROUD OF HER AS IF I BIRTHED HER WHICH I DID NOT!
Found this peaceful and beautiful cemetery on my morning Orejog. Had to pause and look and think. So many have died so that we can do our runs and trips and days in (relative) peace. Remember this!
I’m 100% positive that when people finally arrived in Oregon after traversing the trail, when they first set their eyes upon it, they high fived each other, and then probably instantly fell took a nap in its fields. It’s just so beautiful. BBQ is sad to be leaving, heading back to NC in a few weeks to teach Bikram, so we are sucking up the last bits of beauty while she can. Hike up Mt. Pisgah, two very stoked dogs, a random near-stampede of lost looking cows, back sweat, fleurs, tomfoolery:
First race Fini! I did not:
-come in last place
-engage in runner talk
- jaunt downhill
- space out
- walk uphill
- feel mildly invincible
I present to you: The Times Square Marriott Marquis of porta-potties! The most elegant pee I’ve had in days.
