SANTA CAME.

December 18th, 2012 by Bekah Brunstetter

Q. Guess what’s better than office secret santa in which co-workers prove in gift form that they know / adore to make fun of one another?

A.  NOTHING IN THE ENTIRE WORLD, except for the fact that I now I have a bar in my office.

How to know you’re 30

December 17th, 2012 by Bekah Brunstetter

– You keep calcium chews in your car.

– You start to google your own fertility.

– Midriff seems immodest.

– You begin to specialize in reflecting deeply on your childhood.

– You look at the menu of the place you’re going to eat before you even get there.

– You start to remember middle school.

– Things that start at 11 or after are dumb.

– You are hotter, weirder, and CRAZIER THAN EVER.

….No.

December 14th, 2012 by Bekah Brunstetter

I don’t fully understand it, or why it’s happening, but something is seriously, SERIOUSLY rotten in the state of Denmark. The absurdly high number of mass shootings this years must be a symptom of something, even if it’s something we can’t consciously name, some sort of societal undercurrent? Something is at work, or maybe the Mayans were right after all. I’m so befuddled and sad. In the meantime, thoughts and prayers for all affected in this idyllic CT town, exactly the kind of town where these things keep happening.

Legit Brrrr

December 13th, 2012 by Bekah Brunstetter

While previously, I have enjoyed mocking LAers and their full length North Face puffy coats in 60 degree weather, it would appear that I HAVE JOINED THEM. It’s Legit cold up in Switched at Birth set Mountain Town, and I am two seconds from building a fire / bathing in hot tea. And also, I like it, as it makes me feel like I am not only in California, but also back East, which brings me two steps closer to my ultimate goal of cloning myself, and living Everywhere.

Martini Shot!

December 12th, 2012 by Bekah Brunstetter

On set, I’ve been learning all kinds of cool TV terms like ‘second team’ and ‘last looks’ and ‘headset.’ I think my most favorite new term is Martini shot, or, the last shot of the day. It’s magically disappointing each time when a martini does not  appear. The fervor with which it’s shouted, you’d think that a girl in a cocktail dress brings you a cocktail, immediately. In my coffee stupor, I’ve come up with a few more terms:

125% Bagel shot: when you’ve been there 2 hours and it’s only 9 am and you’re just waiting to turn around, and so you gift yourself with even MORE bagel, out of boredom, for warmth.

Nap Shot: when you strongly consider finding somewhere to sleep on the floor.

Fruit Snack shot: self explanatory.

Grad school shot: when you give a note that makes you feel incredibly useful and important, and you joke, I didn’t go to grad school for nothin! but inside, you plead, please let me not have gone to grad school for nothing.

JON. BASS.

December 11th, 2012 by Bekah Brunstetter

My strange and beautiful  friend, Jon Bass, debuts tonight ON BROADWAY in the Book of Mormon as Elder Cunningham. I met him at Williamstown Theatre  Festival a few years back, where I forced him to play a stoned teenager, a deranged cop and a 95 year old man, pretty much simultaneously. A mere 26 years old, Jon forces us daily to question our life and sweatshirt choices.

Baby’s first written by

December 10th, 2012 by Bekah Brunstetter

I don’t believe I was bloggy of my first Underemployed episode airing, because the night that it did, there was a ‘presidential election results’ type situation, that rudely stole all my fire. But now, both of my eps have aired! Sure, only like five lines are mine, and tons of it changed since it left my hands, but I am still proud. Cool, indeed. You tilt that chin up, Raviva. You get that gig, and then do the things that I scripted for you.
