Last night I was most honored to judge the Sam French short play festival and was gifted with this sick playwright hat that I genuinely love and genuinely might start wearing all the time or least genuinely will spend too much time with It and Photobooth. HAT!

But really, it was awesome being on the other side of the festival (I took part I think in it  07,08 and 09? or 06, 07,08?) Sam French has sort of two goals with the festival: identifying and supporting new voices, as well as finding solid short plays that theaters / schools will want to produce. I couldn’t help but fall in love with the crazy messy plays that were original and ridiculous. It really got me to thunking about how to properly support writers at the very beginnings of their career, and what I might be able to do to uh, do that. First and foremost, WE ALL NEED ONE OF THESE HATS.

This week on Bekah Blogs about Dresses while more Important things are Happening, the perfect long black dress has officially been discovered hiding in a Nordstrom Rack in Annapolis. It’s pretty much perfect for the 101 degree weather as it allows one to pretend one is wearing clothes, while really not wearing that much clothes at all.

But seriously, these tragedies in Norway, such a peaceful place, are really really sad and strange. Even stranger / sadder that both were supposedly executed by a Norwegian citizen, angered by immigration policy.

Let us all now live in fear of popped collars; suspicious chin hair.

Fans, I have returned from my luxurious and decadent vacation to family reunion and Annapolis and Winston-Salem. I vow to now return to blogging more frequently and thoroughly about the hot button issues that shape our society today.

Like these nuts!

Mmmmm. They’re naked.

Mini golf, for pansies

July 19th, 2011 by Bekah Brunstetter

Last night I nightmared about asteroids heading towards earth and creating giant earthquakes. This also involved facebook, my grandparents and riverboats. So I wasn’t suprised to wake today to the WEATHER EQUIVALENCE OF THE END OF THE WHOLE WORLD. Or: 95 degrees. Okay. Not really that hot. But try playing mini golf inside of it. I dare you to try. You can’t. You just CAN’T. You will resort to throwing your ball. You will make it ten holes, and give up.

Marvelous, but immediately followed by headache / lacklusterness / confusion. WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF.
