Easter; now

April 24th, 2011 by Bekah Brunstetter

I usually go home for Easter but couldn’t this year because of Widow, so did a bitta Easter skyping with the family, for which I donned an Easter dress. Made me homesick for honey ham. Oh and also, you know, the family. Happy easter everyone; if you’re not with your family, I hope at least there’s Ham!

Leering

April 23rd, 2011 by Bekah Brunstetter

A.) WHAT IS THIS? IS THIS A METAPHOR? IS THIS A CONVENTION?

B.) Dear people watching my play: I am watching YOU. No matter how many of you are laughing / invested / paying attention, I am pretty much only obsessed with whoever looks like they’d rather be dead that be there. I focus on that one person, or persons, and leer at you / them, willing them to Like with my eyes.

It usually does not work.

NO

April 22nd, 2011 by Bekah Brunstetter

This ¬†April has been particularly windy and I find myself ANGRY at the wind itself, um, I’m walking here and STOP TOUCHING MY HAIR and YOU SUCK like it were a Thing that a person could be passive aggressively or aggressively angry at and then the thing would get the point, change its ways. But wind, like most things that are not Things, does not respond to anger.

(not) Secret (at all) Ingredient

April 21st, 2011 by Bekah Brunstetter

A. LOOK AT THIS PIE MAN THING THAT IS THE MASCOT OF SOME PIE SHOP SOMEWHERE IN AUSTRALIA WHICH I REALLY HOPE IS ALWAYS HUGE AND INFLATED OUTSIDE OF SAID PIE SHOP.

B. It’s crazy: you stare at obsess over a play for years / months / weeks. And then finally, human beings fill the seats and the play itself with their own experiences and the theater with their laughter or attention (or sometimes sadly, the opposite of each.) But it’s incredible how much a play changes with an audience, which is also to say, ‘bread is nice with peanut butter’ and ‘most birds can fly.’

Je tired.

I LOVE THIS GUY

April 20th, 2011 by Bekah Brunstetter

He has the most incredible voice, his name is Roy (?) He’s usually on the uptown F/M platform at 14th. I have given him so many dollars. Today I literally let 2 trains go by so I could listen to him sing Wild World in its entirety. He should be a stah. A STAH!
