parka party!

June 5th, 2009 by Bekah Brunstetter

Nothing like a rainy crap storm to bring the tourists out of hiding! Armed with body-length parkas, bedazzled with dragons, tigers, happy pandas, or simply Clear, they march forwards towards the Toys R Us in Times Square! Go, tourists! Go! (…And I will take pictures with my iphone and put them on the internet.)

Help!!  I am suddenly being flooded with the Spams! Usually it all just goes to my spam but lately they’ve been creeping into my actual box*. Business cards and french and magic blueberries and tax deductions and work from home and no I do NOT want a snuggie or to learn French in 10 days (wait that might be kind of rad) and NO I do not want a magic fruit that will make me skinny and life much more meaningful. Wait, maybe I do want that, a little bit.

le pourquois pas

June 4th, 2009 by Bekah Brunstetter

Hi, it’s me. Morbid. The French are sending their little submarine to the site of the Brazilian flight crash – a little guy named Porquois Pas (I mean, why not, right?) who was used to explore the remains of the Titantic, like, deep. I can’t help but wonder what they will find down there. (Stop, Bekah, Stop.) But really: blue people? Still in their seats, eyes peacefully closed, hair floating? Floating laptops and underwear? Floating peanuts and toothbrushes and chardonnay?   Is it sort of pretty and very still?  And then  all of the sudden, someone’s phone rings and they all wake up. And they open their eyes and smile and undo their seatbelts and just swim  up to safety and shake the water out of their hair. Right? Right?

(I’m terrified.)

Okay, I’m done.

une fete!

June 3rd, 2009 by Bekah Brunstetter

Last night I hosted my first dinner party in my new apt!  Like, adult dinner party. Like, we all sat around a table and there were enough chairs and plates and wine glasses for everyone. Like, everything matched and we discussed smart things like Conan and ate sophisticated things (PB pie and mac and cheese) and did fancy, grown up things (group choerography) (to Single Ladies) and then took to the party to someplace fancy where grown ups go (Barcade.) Being a grown up is GREAT! Je so proud of myself.

This time next week, I will be at the Mayan Riviera, Mexico:

…doing whatever it is that people do when they are on ‘vacation.’ (Um, what is that people do?)

joy, and its counterpart

June 1st, 2009 by Bekah Brunstetter

The Atlantic reading went really really well. Fingers and toes and hairs crossed. Ew. Hairs. In other news, I literally ache for those lost in and affected by the Air France flight. Oh my. I can’t even imagine, or express. Praying for you!
