Last night when meeting with a director buddy I tried to not say like. It was like really hard. I found myself literally unable to speak. So I’ve found this quasi-helpful article on How to Stop saying Like.
And yes, I kind of get it. Instead of saying like – pause and choose the appropriate verb, etc. But um – the article kind of encourages you to talk like a Dbag. Am I meant to parade my wit around, saying things like “You’ll need roughly three tablespoons of butter”?
Like, no. I choose my choice (stupidity.)

AGAIN! I am thrilled to be doing this again with the Old Vic / new voices / At Play Productions. If you are not a nerdy shut in theater person, please note: 24 hour plays means that a bunch of plays are written / rehearsed / performed within 24 hours. This year, I’ll be writing remotely from my family reunion in NC. WHAT? Oh no. Oh no. This is going to be great.

I was fortunate enough this weekend to attend a very pretty wedding in a very pretty state (Vermont). I realized when I got there that was camera was dead, so iphone to the rescue! I’m pretty impressed by the quality of the pictures -
Like:

Shut up, Vermont. Just – shut up.
Steve and friends and I wandered about the charming town of East Dorset, idealizing the Simple Life, saying dumb city kid things like OOH! A TREE! and IT’S JUST SO GREEN! and WE WILL HAVE ONE OF EVERYTHING WITH EXTRA CHEESE AND SYRUP AND SAUSAGE! and A RIVER! IT’S A RIVER!!!!!!

We ate, we drank; we commented, we canoed (hands down, the best part of the weekend. Sorry, the wedding.)

As for the ceremony itself, it was MOST BEAUTIFUL – held at the home of the bride’s late grandmother. Elegant, simple, lovely, well-orchestrated, complete with sparklers AND dance party.

I love this! Sometimes things do not end terribly! Sometimes things are good! Two little kids who wandered away from their parents in the mountains of NC have been found, 24 hours later, totally safe, save a little hunger for water and lil debbie nutty bars (which they were promptly given.)

Would it be possible for me to forever just wear little black dresses of various shapes from American Apparel? Because when I’m wearing one is pretty much the only time I feel remotely attractive.

Here I sit, in the middle of my life, taking a moment to contemplate and remember Beignet. Who’s with me? Thanks to my Dad, I have a bit of the Nawwleans in me. My Grandma used to always make these for us, AND, in high school, when we went to visit, we got to go to Cafe Du Monte and EAT THEM. Sweet. Essentially, they are deep- fried doughy doughnut friends covered in powdered sugar, and I like them, for nostalgia and also yum-related reasons.

Happy (belated) birthday, the blog! It was 2 years ago when I made my first post. For a good time, go back and visit June 2007. It’s very funny and involves a lot of me not knowing how to re-size images and rambling a lot. Oh, how we grow! Now, for the terrible 2s! I think I Care Deeply will spend them being selfish and loud and adorable, and crying, a lot.
