I just bought this gal from a nice Israeli man in a parking lot, for giant bike day ride from downtown to beach Sunday. She’s a beautiful vintage Schwinn. But! I was dumb and didn’t test her on hills. She’s good on flat road but on any incline or decrease, which I guess is to say, hill, she’s creaky and stiff. Now I have to get her fixed. I officially need to stop doing things in parking lots that are not parking.
This bike pops up in different locations in DUMBO every day.
WHO DID THIS?! WHY DID THEY DO IT?! CAN YOU RIDE IT?!
WHAT IS SLEEP LIKE?!
I’m back in business! After last summer’s untimely kidnappings of both Tony AND Roberta, I was bike-less for a bit. Well, I had this guy (given to Steve by a friend?) but it pretty much stayed in the basement with flat tires, collecting dust. Today, I got it all fixed up. Pedestrians: watch your back!
I should just NOT be trusted with nice things, or, further, Things. (In Roberta’s case, the later.) I’ve let her out in the rain so many times and dropped her on her side (see dented basket). You’d think I’d have a bit more respect for something named after my Grandmother.
