I have been SUPER EMOTIONALLY INVOLVED in the will they / won’t they of Nick and Jess on New Girl since the pilot, and they FINALLY KISSED, YOU GUYS. In the privacy of my room, I teen girled out and rewinded and rewatched about nine times. It was simultaneously predictable and unexpected, adorable and hot. KEEP KISSING GUYS. YOU MAKE (ME) AMERICA/ AND PROBABLY OTHER COUNTRIES HAPPY.

It is time to tell the LA sunshine to mind its own beeswax and instead, lay around all afternoon with boy watching home improvement, peppered occasionally with episodes of Kitchen Nightmare in which grown men cry over frozen meatballs. Also, it is Tool Time.

The Neighbors

October 6th, 2012 by Bekah Brunstetter

I love this new ABC show in which a family moves into a suburban neighborhood and discovers that their neighbors are ALIENNNNSSSSSS!!!!!!! and I DON’T care who knows it. I think it’s smart, sweet, charming, good old fashioned sitcomedy. My love for this show has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that my buddies Isaac and Elizabeth are writing for it. I/E are a writing team who I met on Pants, who are not only great friends, incredibly good writers, but insanely attractive:

Sometimes I like to imagine myself just sort of seated between them.

Homeland Vs.

October 4th, 2012 by Bekah Brunstetter

The Debates, sleeping,  going places, doing things, everything in the world that is not watching Homeland:

Except for the fact that if you know, do not tell me.

New Mindless Favorite

July 16th, 2012 by Bekah Brunstetter

This morning while gyming, I happened upon a new reality show about some rich people in Texas. One blonde lady said to another, I’ve been really upset since Bonnie turned on me at the Pheasant Hunt. And then I watched it for nine hours, and we all lived happily ever after, our brains slowing turning to mush.

Having no belief or vision can lead to shape with conflict, but with no content or heart. Having Vision can lead to content, with no shape or conflict.

– Craig Wright after reading a scene that I wrote not well.

It somehow simultaneously indulges but also lambasts stereotypes (ie, waxing poetic about McNuggets.)

One of my favorite scenes thusfar:

Downton Abbey, thusfar

February 7th, 2012 by Bekah Brunstetter

Why it’s quite comfortable up here on this bandwagon that is spending most to all of free time watching Downton Abbey on Netlfix. I do hope you’ll do join me, if you haven’t do! There are about 100 things I love about this show, ranging from its vicious politeness to its hillarity SANS potty humor to how everyone speaks like there are very ornate ribbons pouring out of their mouths to the DRESSES. Oh, I would like the dresses. Most importantly, Anna, a pillar of all that is good disguised as a parlor maid, is my new role model.

Her intentions are always kind and her apron thing is always perfectly pinned upon her boobs. I refuse to believe that in real life, she looks like this:

And most likely is contemporary, fallable and human.

Woe, and how it is Not Me

November 15th, 2011 by Bekah Brunstetter

Oh hi, it’s me, the luckiest little playwright this side of the Rockies. We finished TVing at one today after a super enlightening and productive morning, the office we’re in is beautiful, I’m pretty sure my boss is a genius, my co-writers seem equally great, and while I am TECHNICALLY homeless until tonight when I can get into my sublet, I found a cheap funny gym and joined up, then found this massive sushi lunch, and am currently doing some work outside at a cute as crap little place called Broome street that SERVES GIMME COFFEE, and will later find a late afternoon showing of Like Crazy and like, maybe some popcorn, so for now, in this moment, 100% genuinely, everything is fine, except for the fact that this is the longest sentence ever, and it’s truly a wonder that I have a master’s degree.
